The cost of a floor is £650 per week, this is for a double bedroom and a twin, plus each floor has it own bathroom or shower room. If you fill the floor with 4 people of your choice, then this works out at £162.50 per person per week, or a daily rate of just over £23 for bed breakfast and afternoon tea, which we think is very reasonable.

A similar type Chalet holiday without transport for one week would cost around £340 per person, but this would include six evening meals.

Including evening meal costs

On this holiday you buy your own evening meals each night, with many restaurants to choose from.

Comparable costs are likely to be as described below

Reasonable dinner£10 a meal £162.50 + £10*6 nights = £222.50

A Good dinner £20 per meal £162.50 + £20*6 nights = £282.50

Outstanding dinner £30 per meal £162.50 + £30*6 nights = £342.50

(The above prices include restaurant house wine.)

The £30 per meal is going to be approaching gourmet standards, and could complete with evening meals served in Chalets that change over £600 per week each excluding transport.

Transport Costs

To make the most of this holiday weSerre Chevalier B and B Chalet Holidays recommend that you have a car, (though it is not absolutely essential). You could take a low cost flight and then hire a car, Turin is the nearest airport 1.5 hours driving time, mostly motorway, the last section is over the col Mongenevre. (If you are considering this option then we are happy to provide general advice).

Or you could drive out; Cross-Channel ferries are now much cheaper than in the past, and in 2005 we paid just £50 for each return crossing, this included peak travel times. Return costs might work out like this, Ferry £100, Petrol £160, Tolls £80, total cost of £340. Many annual motor breakdown policies now include, or can easily be extended to include continental cover. If you are driving without an overnight stop we strongly recommend two drivers, drive time from Calais is 10 hours mainly motorway. So for four the cost per person is likely to be less than £100. Chalet has sufficient off road parking.
